In the aftermath of a claim, as soon as it is safe to do so you must take details from any other party involved, most importantly the vehicle registration, the name of the other driver and their contact details and the details of any witnesses. This will help to ensure that your clam runs smoothly and successfully. Any photographs of any damage caused and the scene of the accident are also extremely useful. In the case of a theft or lost property remember to report it to the police. If it is not an emergency call 101 and they will give you a crime reference number which you will need for your insurers.
